Test Log with AU Hosts

Our team has done a test with Ableton Live, an Audio Unit (AU) host. Our presets and samples were installed and loaded successfully. Details of the test are listed below.

If you are using AU hosts and interested in our products, please click here to download a test file containing a test preset and a test sample. All you need to do is to save them in the correct folders.

sample folder in "User/Documents/Steinberg/Padshop/Samples/User Samples/".


  • Mac OS X Version 10.7.5
  • Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
  • Memory 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
  • "Granular Frame Drums" expansion pack
  • Procedures as stated in our instructional manual
  • Ableton Live 9 for Mac OS X 64-bit (Version 9.6)
  • Padshop for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 (including Padshop AU & Padshop Content)
  • Turned on "Use Audio Units" and "Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder"
  • Selected /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Steinberg/ as "VST Plug-In Custom Folder"
  • Clicked "Rescan" once
  • Found "Padshop" under "Plug-Ins Audio Units Steinberg"
  • Opened "Padshop" GUI
  • Found "Granular Frame Drums" VST presets at the bottom centre of the "Padshop" GUI
  • Loaded one of the presets successfully
  • Found "Granular Frame Drums" samples at the right side of the sample screen of the "Padshop" GUI
  • Loaded one of the samples successfully
