Cellostopia for Padshop 2 is the third chapter in an evolving orchestral FX string series, reimagining the cello as a powerful cinematic sound design instrument. Built from deeply sampled articulations and percussive strikes on the cello’s top plate, pegs, and bridge, Cellostopia transforms the familiar into something otherworldly — pushing the instrument far beyond the concert stage.

Inside, you’ll discover evolving cello pads, re-synthesized comps, chromatic percussion, and an expansive collection of orchestral FX including risers, glissandi, and clusters. These elements are paired with dark cinematic soundscapes and rhythmic suites of string- and cello-based percussion, creating a rich toolkit for tension, motion, and atmosphere.

Balanced between utopian calm and dystopian decay, Cellostopia is equally at home crafting meditative underscores, futuristic ambiences, and apocalyptic cinematic moments. Designed for film scoring, trailers, science fiction, and experimental sound design, this expansion unlocks a world where serenity and collapse coexist — shaped entirely by the voice of the cello.

Cellostopia VST Sound Instrument Set is an expansion pack for Steinberg's Padshop 2, a Granular and Spectral Synthesizer.

Online Music Foundry was founded by composer and sound designer Gary Gibbons, who has decades of experience in audio production. With all his experience, Gary instantly recognized the potential of Padshop Pro when it was first released and, since then, he has produced over 10,000 presets. With his desire to share his Padshop knowledge with users and to increase the Padshop community, he created a social media group for Steinberg Instruments - Users Group to share programming tips, technical issues and basic knowledge. He continues to make tutorials for the group and the Steinberg VST instruments and plug-ins YouTube channel.
